नेपाल विद्युत् प्राधिकरणले ५ अर्ब रुपैयाँ अल्पकालीन ऋण लियोNEA Takes NPR 5 Billion Short-Term Loan from Government
नेपाल विद्युत् प्राधिकरण (NEA) ले सरकारसँग ५ अर्ब रुपैयाँ अल्पकालीन ऋण लिएको छ। अर्थ मन्त्रालयले गत असार २० गते प्राधिकरणलाई १० अर्ब रुपैयाँसम्म ऋण लिन स्वीकृति दिएको थियो। त्यसैको आधारमा हालसम्म ५ अर्ब रुपैयाँ प्राधिकरणले प्राप्त गरेको हो।
प्राधिकरणका प्रमुख कार्यकारी निर्देशक हितेन्द्रदेव शाक्यका अनुसार, नगद अभावका कारण ठेक्का भुक्तानी तथा परियोजना खर्च व्यवस्थापन गर्न सरकारले उपलब्ध गराएको ५.३८ प्रतिशत ब्याजदरको ऋण प्रयोग भइरहेको छ। उनले विद्युत् प्रसारण लाइन क्षमता अभिवृद्धि, बाँकी भुक्तानी तथा गुणस्तरीय विद्युतीकरणका लागि यो ऋण आवश्यक रहेको स्पष्ट पारे।
शाक्यले प्राधिकरण हाल आर्थिक दबाबमा रहेको भए पनि ब्याजदर सस्तो भएकाले सरकारसँग ऋण लिन सहज भएको बताए। साथै, उनले आगामी आर्थिक वर्षका लागि थप ५ अर्ब रुपैयाँ अल्पकालीन ऋणका लागि अर्थ मन्त्रालयलाई अनुरोध गरिएको जानकारी पनि दिए।
यससँगै, प्राधिकरणले देशभर विद्युतीय संरचना विस्तार र क्षमतावृद्धिको लक्ष्य पूरा गर्न सरकारसँग लिएको ऋणलाई उपयोग गर्ने जनाएको छ।
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has taken a short-term loan of NPR 5 billion from the government. The Ministry of Finance had approved up to NPR 10 billion in loans for NEA on Ashar 20, and based on that approval, NPR 5 billion has already been disbursed.
According to NEA’s Executive Director, Hitendra Dev Shakya, the loan at an interest rate of 5.38% has been utilized to address cash shortages and to make payments for various contracts and projects. He stated that the loan is essential for upgrading transmission line capacity, clearing outstanding payments, and ensuring quality electrification across the country.
Shakya further noted that although NEA is currently under financial pressure, the relatively low interest rate has made borrowing feasible. He also confirmed that NEA has already requested an additional NPR 5 billion short-term loan from the Ministry of Finance for the upcoming fiscal year.
With this borrowing, NEA aims to continue expanding electricity infrastructure and enhancing power supply capacity nationwide.
