On the first trading day of the Nepali New Year 2083 B.S., the NEPSE index closed on a strong positive note, reversing the slight decline seen in the previous session. On Wednesday, the index surged by 33.27 points to reach 2866.87. Similarly, the sensitive index rose by 5.22 points, the float index by 2.14 points, and the sensitive float index by 1.65 points. The total turnover also increased significantly, exceeding NPR 10.53 billion, with more than 264 million shares of 344 companies traded. Six stocks hit the positive circuit level, while several others recorded notable gains; however, Reliance Spinning Mills witnessed a decline in its share price. In terms of transaction volume, Shivam Cements topped the list, followed by National Hydropower Company and Reliance Spinning Mills. All 13 sub-indices closed in the green, with the hotel and tourism sector leading the gains at 3.16%, while hydropower, trading, banking, development banks, and finance sectors also showed strong performance.
