तिहारको अवसरमा नेप्से कार्तिक ३ गतेदेखि र कार्तिक ८ गते सोमबारसम्म बन्द रहनेNEPSE to Remain Closed During Tihar Festival
काठमाडौं । नेपाल सरकारले तिहारको अवसरमा सार्वजनिक बिदा घोषणा गरेको छ । तिहार पर्वको सुरुवात सोमबार, कार्तिक ३ गतेदेखि हुने र कार्तिक ८ गते सोमबारसम्म सार्वजनिक बिदा रहने सरकारले जनाएको छ ।
यसै अवधिमा नेपाल स्टक एक्सचेञ्ज लिमिटेड (नेप्से) पनि बन्द रहनेछ । नेप्सेले नियमित सेयर कारोबार कार्तिक ९ गते, आइतबार बिहान ११:०० बजेबाट पुनः सुरु हुने जानकारी दिएको छ ।
तिहार, जसलाई दीपावली वा यमपञ्चक पनि भनिन्छ, नेपालभर धुमधामका साथ मनाइने पाँच दिनको उज्यालो पर्व हो । यो पर्व यमराज (मृत्युदेव) र लक्ष्मी (सम्पत्तिकी देवी) प्रति श्रद्धा अर्पण गर्ने अवसरको रूपमा मनाइन्छ ।
प्रत्येक दिनको आफ्नै महत्व रहेको यो पर्वमा पहिलो दिन काग तिहार (कागलाई पूज्ने), दोस्रो दिन कुकुर तिहार (कुकुरलाई पूज्ने), तेस्रो दिन गाई तिहार र लक्ष्मी पूजा (गाई र सम्पत्तिकी देवी लक्ष्मीको आराधना गर्ने), चौथो दिन म्हः पूजा (आफ्नै आत्माको पूजा गर्ने) र अन्तिम दिन भाइ टीका (दाजुभाइबीच आशीर्वाद आदान–प्रदान गर्ने) मनाइन्छ ।
तिहारका क्रममा घरघरमा रङ्गीचङ्गी बत्ती, फूलमालाले सजाइन्छ, तेलका दियो बालिन्छ र लक्ष्मी पूजाका दिन घरमा धनकी देवी लक्ष्मीलाई स्वागत गर्न विशेष तयारी गरिन्छ । भाइटीकाको दिन दिदीबहिनीहरूले आफ्ना दाजुभाइको लामो आयु, सफलता र समृद्धिको कामना गर्दै टीका र माला लगाइदिन्छन् ।
यो पर्वले परिवार, मित्रता, पशुप्रेम र धार्मिक एकताको सन्देश फैलाउने नेपालको सांस्कृतिक सम्पदामध्ये एक हो ।
Kathmandu — The Government of Nepal has announced a public holiday from Monday, 3rd Kartik, to Monday, 8th Kartik, on the occasion of Tihar, one of the country’s most vibrant and widely celebrated festivals.
During this period, the Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) will also remain closed. Regular trading will resume on Sunday, 9th Kartik, 2082, at 11:00 AM.
Tihar, also known as Deepawali or Yamapanchak, is a five-day festival that symbolizes light, prosperity, and the divine relationship between humans, gods, and animals. The festival honors Yama, the God of Death, and Laxmi, the Goddess of Wealth, reflecting themes of life, wealth, and familial harmony.
Each day of Tihar carries its own special meaning: Kaag Tihar is dedicated to crows, Kukur Tihar honors dogs, Gai Tihar and Laxmi Puja celebrate cows and Goddess Laxmi, Mha Puja promotes self-reflection and inner purity, and Bhai Tika strengthens the bond between brothers and sisters through blessings and rituals.
During the festival, homes are decorated with colorful lights, flowers, and candles. On Laxmi Puja, households illuminate their entrances to welcome the Goddess of Wealth, while on Bhai Tika, sisters offer tika and garlands to their brothers, praying for their long life and prosperity.
Tihar beautifully embodies Nepal’s cultural richness, the spirit of gratitude, and the unity between humans, animals, and deities.
