Roshan Kumar Neupane, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NIC Asia Bank, has resigned due to health issues affecting both him and his wife. Neupane, who was appointed for a second term as CEO in November 2022, had his resignation approved by the Board of Directors during a meeting held on Thursday. Neupane cited the need for an extended leave due to health concerns, which could potentially impact the bank's operations. In his resignation statement, Neupane mentioned that a prolonged absence could adversely affect the bank's performance, prompting him to step down earlier than his contract expiration in November 2026.
Following his resignation, Santosh Rathi, the Deputy CEO of the bank, has been appointed as the Acting CEO. Rathi, who has been with the bank for a long time and previously served in senior leadership roles, will take on the responsibilities of the CEO temporarily until a permanent appointment is made. The board, in its meeting, confirmed Rathi's appointment, ensuring that the bank's operations will continue smoothly during this transition period.
