Oli expressed confidence that the Auto Show would be successful due to the latest technologies showcased at the event. Highlighting that the world has already made great strides in technology, he stressed that Nepal too must embrace such innovations to move forward. He added that young people are taking leaps in innovation and technology, and the country should capitalize on their potential.

मंगलबार सुनचाँदीको मूल्यमा गिरावट नेपाली बजारमा मंगलबार सुनचाँदी दुवैको मूल्यमा गिरावट आएको छ। नेपाल सुनचाँदी व्यवसायी महासंघका अनुसार सोमबारको तुलनामा मंगलबार छापावाल सुनको मूल्य तोलामा १,२०० रुपैयाँले घटेको हो। सो अनुसार मंगलबार छापावाल सुन प्रतितोला १ लाख ९५ हजार १०० रुपैयाँमा कारोबार भइरहेको छ। अघिल्लो दिन सोमबार भने यसै सुनको मूल्य प्रतितोला १ लाख ९६ हजार ३०० रुपैयाँ कायम थियो। यस्तै, चाँदीको मूल्यमा पनि कमी आएको छ। सोमबार प्रतितोला २ हजार ३१५ रुपैयाँमा रहेको चाँदी मंगलबार घटेर २ हजार ३०० रुपैयाँमा झरेको महासंघले जनाएको छ।Gold and Silver Prices Decline on Tuesday The Nepali market witnessed a drop in both gold and silver prices on Tuesday. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of hallmark gold fell by Rs. 1,200 per tola compared to Monday. With this decline, the price of hallmark gold stood at Rs. 195,100 per tola on Tuesday, down from Rs. 196,300 per tola on Monday. Similarly, silver prices also dropped. Silver, which was priced at Rs. 2,315 per tola on Monday, decreased to Rs. 2,300 per tola on Tuesday, as per the notice issued by the federation.

Now, the company has decided to transfer 5.72% of the promoter shares into the public group. After this change, promoter ownership will decrease to 64.28%, while public ownership will rise to 35.72%.

नेपाल विद्युत् प्राधिकरणले ५ अर्ब रुपैयाँ अल्पकालीन ऋण लियो नेपाल विद्युत् प्राधिकरण (NEA) ले सरकारसँग ५ अर्ब रुपैयाँ अल्पकालीन ऋण लिएको छ। अर्थ मन्त्रालयले गत असार २० गते प्राधिकरणलाई १० अर्ब रुपैयाँसम्म ऋण लिन स्वीकृति दिएको थियो। त्यसैको आधारमा हालसम्म ५ अर्ब रुपैयाँ प्राधिकरणले प्राप्त गरेको हो। प्राधिकरणका प्रमुख कार्यकारी निर्देशक हितेन्द्रदेव शाक्यका अनुसार, नगद अभावका कारण ठेक्का भुक्तानी तथा परियोजना खर्च व्यवस्थापन गर्न सरकारले उपलब्ध गराएको ५.३८ प्रतिशत ब्याजदरको ऋण प्रयोग भइरहेको छ। उनले विद्युत् प्रसारण लाइन क्षमता अभिवृद्धि, बाँकी भुक्तानी तथा गुणस्तरीय विद्युतीकरणका लागि यो ऋण आवश्यक रहेको स्पष्ट पारे।NEA Takes NPR 5 Billion Short-Term Loan from Government Kathmandu, Aug 18 – Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has taken a short-term loan of NPR 5 billion from the government. The Ministry of Finance had approved up to NPR 10 billion in loans for NEA on Ashar 20, and based on that approval, NPR 5 billion has already been disbursed. According to NEA’s Executive Director, Hitendra Dev Shakya, the loan at an interest rate of 5.38% has been utilized to address cash shortages and to make payments for various contracts and projects. He stated that the loan is essential for upgrading transmission line capacity, clearing outstanding payments, and ensuring quality electrification across the country.

Despite a rise in turnover compared to Thursday, all sectoral indices closed in red, indicating growing selling pressure among investors. The NEPSE index fell by 27.14 points to close at 2,761 points, down from 2,788 on Thursday. Continuous declines over recent sessions have heightened panic selling as investors attempt to minimize losses through stop-loss strategies, resulting in stronger selling pressure than buying demand. On Sunday, shares of 249 companies worth NPR 7.73 billion were traded, slightly higher than Thursday’s NPR 7.46 billion. However, the increased turnover failed to lift the market. Prices of 58 companies advanced while 191 declined, with all 13 sub-indices ending in negative territory. Trade, Others, Microfinance, Manufacturing & Processing, and Banking sub-indices dropped more than 1 percent. Analysts note that back-to-back double-digit losses have fueled panic among investors.

The company will issue 14,764,000 ordinary shares at a par value of NPR 100 each, equivalent to its current paid-up capital of NPR 1.47 billion, in a 1:1 ratio. This means that existing shareholders will be entitled to receive one rights share for every one share they currently hold. For rights eligibility, the company had already conducted a book closure on July 31, 2025 (Shrawan 16, 2082 BS). Therefore, only shareholders who were listed in NEPSE by July 30, 2025 (Shrawan 15) will be eligible to apply. Shareholders may submit their applications until September 24, 2025 (Ashoj 8, 2082 BS). The company stated that the funds raised from this rights issue will be utilized to repay bank and financial institution loans taken for its ongoing power generation projects. This move is expected to improve the company’s financial position and strengthen its operational capacity.
