चालु आर्थिक वर्ष २०८२/८३ को तेस्रो त्रैमासमा नेपालको अर्थतन्त्र ३.५१ प्रतिशतले विस्तार हुने प्रारम्भिक अनुमान गरिएको छ। विद्युत तथा ग्यास, वित्तीय तथा बिमा सेवा, यातायात तथा भण्डारण तथा थोक–खुद्रा व्यापार क्षेत्रमा भएको उल्लेखनीय विस्तारले समग्र आर्थिक वृद्धिमा टेवा पुगेको छ।The Nepalese economy is expected to grow by 3.51 percent in the third quarter of the current fiscal year 2082/83. The significant expansion in the electricity and gas, financial and insurance services, transportation and storage, and wholesale and retail trade sectors has contributed to the overall economic growth.

नेपाल उद्योग वाणिज्य महासंघले आगामी आर्थिक वर्ष २०८३/८४ को मौद्रिक नीतिसँगै दोस्रो चरणको वित्तीय सुधार अघि बढाउनुपर्ने सुझाव दिएको छ। महासंघका अनुसार ब्याजदर घटाउने वा बढाउने परम्परागत नीतिले मात्र अहिलेको आर्थिक सुस्तता हटाउन नसक्ने भएकाले बैंकिङ प्रणालीलाई संरचनात्मक रूपमा पुनः सक्षम बनाउने सुधार आवश्यक रहेको छ।The Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry has suggested that the second-generation financial reforms should be implemented along with the upcoming monetary policy for the fiscal year 2083/84. According to the Chamber, the traditional policy of reducing or increasing interest rates alone cannot remove the current economic stagnation, and therefore, structural reforms are necessary to make the banking system more efficient.
