देशको मौसममा पश्चिमी न्यूनचापीय रेखा, स्थानीय वायु र पूर्वीय वायुको सम्मिलित प्रभाव परिरहेको छ। यसले गर्दा देशका विभिन्न भू-भागमा फरक-फरक मौसमी अवस्था सिर्जना भएको छ।

जल तथा मौसम विज्ञान विभागका अनुसार आज दिउँसो कोशी, बागमती, गण्डकी, कर्णाली र सुदूरपश्चिम प्रदेशका हिमाली र पहाडी क्षेत्रमा बादल लाग्नेछ। लुम्बिनी प्रदेशको पहाडी भू-भाग र मधेस प्रदेशको तराईमा आंशिक बादल रहने भए पनि अन्य तराई भू-भागमा मौसम मुख्यतया सफा रहनेछ।

कोशी प्रदेशका हिमाली र पहाडी क्षेत्रका केही स्थान तथा बागमती, गण्डकी, लुम्बिनी, कर्णाली र सुदूरपश्चिम प्रदेशका हिमाली र पहाडी भू-भागका एक-दुई ठाउँमा मेघगर्जन र चट्याङसहित मध्यमस्तरको वर्षा हुने सम्भावना छ। कतिपय उच्च हिमाली क्षेत्रमा हिमपात पनि हुन सक्ने मौसम पूर्वानुमान महाशाखाले जनाएको छ।

तराई क्षेत्रमा भने फरक किसिमको मौसमी चुनौती देखिँदैछ। लुम्बिनी र सुदूरपश्चिम प्रदेशका तराईका केही स्थानमा तातो लहर आउने र बागमती तथा गण्डकी प्रदेशका तराईका केही ठाउँमा पनि तातो दिन हुने सम्भावना रहेको छ।

आज राति कोशी, बागमती र गण्डकी प्रदेशका हिमाली र पहाडी क्षेत्रमा बादल लाग्ने र ती क्षेत्रका थोरै स्थानमा मेघगर्जन तथा चट्याङसहित वर्षा र हिमपात हुने अनुमान गरिएको छ। कोशी प्रदेशको तराईमा पनि राति चट्याङसहित वर्षाको सम्भावना रहेको महाशाखाले सचेत गराएको छ।

A combination of western low pressure, local winds, and partial easterly influence is shaping Nepal's weather pattern, creating distinctly different conditions across various parts of the country at the same time.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, cloudy skies are expected across the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces during the day. The hilly areas of Lumbini province and the plains of Madhesh province will see partial cloud cover, while the remaining Terai belt is likely to stay mostly clear and sunny.

The weather department has issued a warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and moderate rainfall for several locations across the Himalayan and hilly zones of Koshi province, as well as one or two spots in the hills and mountains of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Some high-altitude Himalayan areas could also experience snowfall during the day.

The situation in the plains tells a very different story. A heatwave is possible in parts of the Terai in Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces, while hot day conditions are also expected in some low-lying areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces — a stark contrast to the stormy weather anticipated in the hills above.

As night falls, cloudy conditions will continue over the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Thunderstorms with moderate rain and snowfall remain possible in scattered locations across these areas, as well as in one or two spots in the Himalayan zones of Lumbini and Karnali provinces. Even the Terai areas of Koshi province are not entirely in the clear, with the department warning of possible thunderstorms and moderate rain there through the night.
