After declining the previous day, the market extended the same trend, dropping by 9.08 points to close at 2,655.38. Despite heavy trading in the hydropower sector, strong selling pressure in the segment dragged the market down. However, overall transaction volume saw a notable increase. On Wednesday, the total turnover was NPR 9.90 billion, whereas on Thursday, shares worth NPR 12.51 billion were traded in 102,895 transactions involving 311 companies, totaling over 28.6 million shares.

नेपालमा सेयर धितो कर्जा १० महिनामा ३९.३ प्रतिशतले वृद्धि भई १ खर्ब २५ अर्ब ५२ करोड रुपैयाँ पुगेको छ । यो वृद्धि मुख्यतः ठूला ऋणीहरूले ल्याएका हुन् । १ करोड रुपैयाँभन्दा माथिको कर्जा ५३.३ प्रतिशतले, ५० लाखदेखि १ करोड सम्मको २१.१ प्रतिशतले, र २५ लाखदेखि ५० लाख सम्मको कर्जा १५.३ प्रतिशतले बढेको छ । यसले ठूला लगानीकर्ताहरूको सेयर धितो कर्जाप्रति निर्भरता बढ्दो रहेको संकेत गर्दछ ।Margin loans against shares in Nepal have increased significantly, rising 39.3% in just 10 months, reaching Rs. 125.52 billion by the end of Baisakh. The growth is largely driven by big borrowers, with loans above Rs. 1 crore jumping 53.3%. Loans between Rs. 50 lakh to 1 crore rose by 21.1%, and loans between Rs. 25 to 50 lakh increased by 15.3%. This indicates a growing reliance on share-backed loans, especially among large investors.

नेपाल धितोपत्र बोर्डको प्रतिवेदन सार्वजनिक: नयाँ स्टक एक्सचेन्जको लाइसेन्स र नेपाल स्टक एक्सचेन्जको पुनर्संरचनाको सिफारिस नेपाल धितोपत्र बोर्डले धितोपत्र बजार सञ्चालनका लागि एक भन्दा बढी सङ्गठित संस्थालाई अनुमति दिने सम्बन्धमा गरिएको अध्ययन प्रतिवेदन, २०८१ मंगलबार सार्वजनिक गरेको छ। उक्त प्रतिवेदन कार्यान्वयनमा लैजाने निर्णय सरकारले अघि नै गरिसकेको थियो। नेपाल सरकारको २०८१ पुस ५ मा बसेको मन्त्रिपरिषद् बैठकले नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकका पूर्व डेपुटी गभर्नर चिन्तामणि सिवाकोटीको नेतृत्वमा गठित अध्ययन समितिले तयार पारेको प्रतिवेदन कार्यान्वयन गर्ने निर्णय गरेको थियो। त्यसपछि सरकारले उक्त प्रतिवेदन अर्थ मन्त्रालयमा पठाएर कार्यान्वयन प्रक्रियाको थालनी गर्न निर्देशन दिएको थियो, र अर्थ मन्त्रालयले उक्त प्रतिवेदन कार्यान्वयनको जिम्मा धितोपत्र बोर्डलाई दिएको थियोNepal Securities Board Publishes Report: Recommends Licensing New Stock Exchange and Restructuring Nepal Stock Exchange The Nepal Securities Board has made public a study report on Tuesday, 2081 (2025), concerning the authorization of multiple organized institutions to operate the securities market. The government had already decided to implement the recommendations of this report. On Poush 5, 2081 (December 20, 2024), a cabinet meeting of the Government of Nepal approved the implementation of the report prepared by a study committee led by former Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Chintamani Siwakoti. Following this, the government forwarded the report to the Ministry of Finance with instructions to initiate the implementation process, and the Ministry assigned the responsibility to the Nepal Securities Board. On Tuesday, the Board released the report, which recommends issuing a license for a new stock exchange. Additionally, it highlights the need to restructure the existing Nepal Stock Exchange. The report also provides various legal and operational suggestions. This decision is expected to bring greater stability and diversity to Nepal’s investors and the securities market.

In Baishakh, the inflation for food and beverages stood at 1.52%, while non-food and services inflation was 3.45%. In the same period last year, the inflation for these groups was 6.41% and 3.09%, respectively. In Baishakh, within the food and beverages group, the annual point-to-point inflation for ghee and oils was 11.08%, fruits were 6.15%, lentils and pulses were 5.17%, and non-alcoholic beverages saw a 4.70% increase. However, the annual point-to-point inflation for vegetables was 8.11%, spices increased by 2.20%, and fish and meat decreased by 0.48%.
