राष्ट्र बैंकले उपदान तथा पेन्सन कोषका ४ अर्बभन्दा बढी रकम संस्थागत निक्षेपमा लगानी गर्ने नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकले उपदान तथा पेन्सन कोषमा संचित ४ अर्ब ३५ करोड रुपैयाँ संस्थागत निक्षेपमा लगानी गर्ने भएको छ। यसका लागि केन्द्रीय बैंकले बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्थाहरूबाट प्रस्ताव माग गरेको छ। राष्ट्र बैंकका अनुसार प्रस्ताव पेस गर्ने बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्थाहरूले मंसिर ২৩ गतेसम्म आफूले कति रकम संस्थागत निक्षेपको रूपमा लिन चाहन्छन् र कति ब्याजदर प्रस्ताव गर्छन् भन्ने विवरणसहित प्रस्ताव पेश गर्नुपर्नेछ। लगानी गर्न लागेको उक्त निक्षेपको अवधि ३६६ दिन रहनेछ—अर्थात डिसेम्बर १४, २०२५ देखि डिसेम्बर १४, २०२६ सम्म।Nepal Rastra Bank to Invest Over Rs 4 Billion From Grant and Pension Fund as Institutional Deposits Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has decided to invest more than Rs 4.35 billion from its Grant and Pension Fund as institutional deposits. The central bank has issued a notice calling for proposals from banks and financial institutions interested in receiving these funds as term deposits. According to NRB, interested institutions must submit their proposals by Mangsir 23, specifying the amount they wish to accept as institutional deposits and the interest rate they are willing to offer. The deposit tenure has been fixed at 366 days, spanning from December 14, 2025, to December 14, 2026.

According to the notice, promoter shareholders have been given 35 days to submit their applications for purchasing the shares. If the bank does not receive applications within this period, the shares will then be made available for purchase by the general public as well.

According to family sources, he died on Sunday morning. His final rites will be performed today at Shobhabagwati, Kathmandu, the family said. He retired from his banking career after serving as the founding Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prime Commercial Bank. Before joining Prime Bank, he had served as CEO and senior executive in several commercial banks across the country. He also worked as a consultant for the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

According to NRB, both the principal and interest of this instrument will mature on Falgun 17, with the interest rate determined through a competitive bidding (auction) process. The collected deposits can also be used as collateral at other banks and financial institutions—except the central bank itself.

अर्काको कोल्याटरल बेच्नु ‘भ्रष्टाचारको भाग’ : गभर्नर पौडेल काठमाडौं — नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकका गभर्नर प्रा. डा. विश्वनाथ पौडेलले बैंक तथा वित्तीय क्षेत्रमा हुने कर्जासम्बन्धी अनियमितताप्रति कडा चेतावनी दिएका छन्। उनले जबरजस्ती अर्काको कोल्याटरल बेचेर फाइदा उठाउने गतिविधि ‘पार्ट अफ करप्सन’ भएको उल्लेख गर्दै यस्तो कार्य राष्ट्र बैंकले क्षम्य रूपमा नलिने स्पष्ट सन्देश दिएको छ। आइतबार नेपाल आर्थिक पत्रकार संघ (नाफिज)को १६औँ वार्षिक साधारण सभामा बोल्दै गभर्नर पौडेलले सरकारी र निजी बैंकबीचको व्यवहारगत भिन्नता पनि व्याख्या गरे। उनका अनुसार सरकारी बैंकले केही जोखिम उठाउन सक्लान्, तर निजी बैंकमा त्यस्ता गतिविधि देखिए राष्ट्र बैंकले कठोर कदमहरू उठाउनेछ।Selling Someone Else’s Collateral Is ‘Part of Corruption’: Governor Paudel Kathmandu — Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Prof. Dr. Bishwanath Paudel has issued a stern warning against irregularities related to collateral handling in the banking sector. Speaking at the 16th Annual General Meeting of the Nepal Forum of Financial Journalists (NAFIJ) on Sunday, Governor Paudel emphasized that there is a clear distinction in the way public and private banks are viewed. According to him, while government-owned banks may absorb certain risks, similar misconduct in private banks would invite strict regulatory action.

रसुवागढी जलविद्युत आयोजना आंशिक सञ्चालनमा, एक युनिटबाट ३७ मेगावाट उत्पादन सुरु काठमाडौं — नेपाल विद्युत प्राधिकरणको सहायक कम्पनी चिलिमे जलविद्युतको नेतृत्वमा रसुवामा निर्माण भएको रसुवागढी जलविद्युत आयोजना आंशिक रूपमा पुनः सञ्चालनमा आएको छ। गत असार २४ गते तिब्बत क्षेत्रबाट बग्ने ल्येन्दे खोलामा हिमताल विष्फोटनका कारण आएको भीषण बाढीले आयोजना संरचना—विशेषगरी हेडवर्क्स—मा ठूलो क्षति पुर्‍याएपछि उत्पादन रोकिएको थियो। हेडवर्क्सको प्राथमिक मर्मत कार्य सम्पन्न भएपछि शनिबारदेखि विद्युतगृहमा रहेका तीन युनिटमध्ये एउटा युनिट सञ्चालनमा ल्याइएको हो। १११ मेगावाट जडित क्षमताको आयोजनामा प्रत्येक युनिट ३७ मेगावाट विद्युत उत्पादन गर्ने क्षमता राख्छ। बाँकी दुई युनिट पनि एक महिनाभित्र सञ्चालनमा ल्याउने लक्ष्य प्राधिकरणले जनाएको छ।Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Resumes Partial Operation; One Unit Generates 37 MW Kathmandu — The Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project, constructed under the leadership of Chilime Hydropower— a subsidiary of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA)— has resumed partial operation. The project had been shut down after flash floods triggered by a glacial lake outburst from the Lyende River in Tibet on Asar 24 caused extensive damage to the project’s headworks and surrounding structures. Following the completion of emergency repairs at the headworks, one of the three units at the powerhouse was brought back into operation from Saturday. Rasuwagadhi, with an installed capacity of 111 MW, produces 37 MW of electricity from each unit.

The initiative, led by Nepal Rastra Bank, was carried out by the Bangladeshi audit firm Howlader Yunus & Co., which visited Nepal to conduct on-site examinations of the selected banks. The review process followed Nepal’s commitment under the International Monetary Fund’s Extended Credit Facility (ECF) to assess the quality of assets within the banking sector. The audit team, which also included representatives from Nepal Rastra Bank, conducted detailed field inspections at each bank. The reviewers examined loan files, tested core banking systems, assessed the actual progress of financed projects, and evaluated repayment mechanisms. According to sources, the assessment was based on nearly two dozen indicators designed to measure the overall quality of the banks’ assets.
