युरोपेली अन्तरिक्ष एजेन्सीले २२.१ अर्ब युरोको अभूतपूर्व बजेट सुरक्षित गर्दै अन्तरिक्ष योजनामा तीव्रता ल्याउने तयारी युरोपेली अन्तरिक्ष एजेन्सी (इएसए) ले आउने तीन वर्षका लागि २२.१ अर्ब युरोको बजेट सुनिश्चित गरेको घोषणा गरेको छ। जर्मनीको ब्रेमेन सहरमा बसेको मन्त्रीस्तरीय परिषद्को बैठकपछि एजेन्सीले सार्वजनिक गरेको विवरणअनुसार यो बजेट इएसएले सन् २०२२ मा पाएको प्रतिबद्धताभन्दा पाँच अर्ब युरो बढी हो। इएसएका महानिर्देशक जोसेफ एशबाखरले यसलाई “पहिले कहिल्यै नभएको” साधन जुटानका रूपमा वर्णन गरे। बैठकअघि विज्ञहरूले करिब २० अर्ब युरो जति बजेट हुने अनुमान गरेका थिए। तर अन्ततः सदस्य मुलुकहरूले अपेक्षाभन्दा धेरै ठूलो रकम प्रतिबद्ध गरे, जसलाई एशबाखरले यूरोपले अन्तरिक्ष क्षेत्रमा देखाएको नयाँ प्राथमिकताको संकेतका रूपमा व्याख्या गरे। उनको भनाइमा, “अन्तरिक्ष आज एउटा तीव्र गतिमा फैलिंदै गएको आर्थिक क्षेत्र बनिसकेको छ, सुरक्षा र रक्षा दुवैका लागि यसको भूमिका झनै महत्वपूर्ण बन्दै गएको छ।”European Space Agency Secures Record €22.1 Billion Budget, Accelerates Ambitious Space Programs The European Space Agency (ESA) has secured an unprecedented budget of €22.1 billion for its programs over the next three years, marking one of the largest financial commitments in the agency’s history. The decision was announced following a ministerial council meeting held in Bremen, Germany. This new budget exceeds the amount pledged by ESA’s 23 member states in 2022 by more than €5 billion—a milestone ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher described as “something never seen before.” Prior to the meeting, experts had projected a budget of around €20 billion. However, the final commitment surpassed expectations, signaling Europe’s growing recognition of space as a rapidly expanding economic sector with increasing relevance for security, defense, and technological leadership. Aschbacher emphasized that space has become “an economic domain growing at tremendous speed,” and a field Europe must not fall behind in.
