The Kathmandu District Administration Office has issued a notice announcing the acquisition of nearly 740,000 square meters of land for the construction of the 400 kV electricity transmission line under the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) project. According to the notice published today, the administration will acquire both private and government-owned land located in the Naglebhare and Lapsiphedi areas of Kathmandu for the project. The MCC-backed 400 kV transmission line is considered one of the most significant national infrastructure projects aimed at expanding Nepal’s electricity transmission network.

In a public notice issued on Tuesday, the central bank stated that, under Section 3 of the Foreign Exchange (Regulation) Act, 2019, entities must obtain a license from NRB to conduct foreign exchange activities. According to the new provision, casinos and similar establishments must receive formal approval from NRB to conduct or facilitate transactions involving foreign currencies, including Indian Rupees. नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकले आज (आइतबार) वित्तीय प्रणालीमा रहेको अधिक तरलता व्यवस्थापन गर्न ३० अर्ब रुपैयाँ निक्षेप संकलन बोलकबोलमार्फत झिक्दैछ। यो रकम ८४ दिनका लागि झिकिनेछ। बोलकबोलमा ‘क’, ‘ख’ र ‘ग’ वर्गका बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्था सहभागी हुन सक्नेछन् र आज दिउँसो २ बजेसम्म अनलाइन आवेदन दिन सकिनेछ। गत सातामा राष्ट्र बैंकले १७५ दिनका लागि ४० अर्ब रुपैयाँ झिकेको थियो।Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is withdrawing Rs. 30 billion from the financial system today (Sunday) to manage excess liquidity. नवील बैंक लिमिटेडको नाफा १४.५७ प्रतिशतले घट्दै पहिलो त्रैमासमा १ अर्ब ७५ करोड रुपैयाँ पुगेको छ। यो अघिल्लो वर्षको २ अर्ब ५ करोड रुपैयाँभन्दा कम हो। ब्याज आम्दानी ५.७७ प्रतिशतले घटेको भए पनि शुल्क तथा कमिसन आम्दानी ६.२९ प्रतिशतले बढेको छ। बैंकको निक्षेप ६.१० प्रतिशतले बढ्दै ५५६ अर्ब ६१ करोड रुपैयाँ, र कर्जा प्रवाह १.९९ प्रतिशतले बढ्दै ४२१ अर्ब रुपैयाँ पुगेको छ। निष्क्रिय कर्जा (NPL) ०.९७ प्रतिशतमा झरेको छ भने पुँजी पर्याप्तता अनुपात १२.६७ प्रतिशतमा स्थिर छ। नाफा घटे पनि बैंकको परिसम्पत्ति गुणस्तर र स्थिरता सुधारिएको देखिन्छ।Nabil Bank Limited reported a 14.57% decline in net profit in the first quarter of FY 2082/83, earning NPR 1.75 billion compared to NPR 2.05 billion last year. The fall was mainly due to lower interest income, which dropped by 5.77% to NPR 3.09 billion. However, fee and commission income grew by 6.29%, partly offsetting the decline. Deposits increased by 6.10% to NPR 556.61 billion, and loans rose by 1.99% to NPR 421 billion. The bank’s NPL improved to 0.97%, capital adequacy ratio remained strong at 12.67%, and net worth per share stood at NPR 240.72. Despite reduced profit, asset quality and stability improved.

चालु आर्थिक वर्षमा सरकारले पुँजीगत खर्चमा सुस्तता देखाएको छ । अर्थ मन्त्रालय मातहतको महालेखा नियन्त्रक कार्यालयका अनुसार असोज १८ गतेसम्म पुँजीगत शीर्षकमा विनियोजित ४ खर्ब ७ अर्ब बजेटमध्ये मात्र २२ अर्ब खर्च भएको छ । अघिल्लो वर्षको यही अवधिमा ३२ अर्ब ५६ करोड खर्च भइसकेको थियो ।Nepal’s capital expenditure has dropped sharply in the current fiscal year compared to the same period last year. According to the Office of the Financial Comptroller General under the Ministry of Finance, only NPR 22 billion has been spent under the capital heading as of Ashoj 18, out of the allocated NPR 407 billion. १७ निर्माण कम्पनीहरू कालोसूचीमा, सार्वजनिक निर्माणमा सहभागिता प्रतिबन्ध नेपाल सरकारको सार्वजनिक खरिद अनुगमन कार्यालयले देशभरका १७ वटा निर्माण कम्पनीहरूलाई कालोसूचीमा राखेको छ। कार्यालयले बिहीबार सूचना जारी गर्दै ती कम्पनीहरूलाई एकदेखि दुई वर्षसम्मका लागि कालोसूचीमा राखिएको जानकारी दिएको हो। कार्यालयका अनुसार ती कम्पनीहरूले सम्झौता उल्लङ्घन, निर्माण कार्य समयमा सम्पन्न नगरेको, वा कार्य सम्पूर्ण रूपमा सम्पन्न नगरेको कारण कारबाही गरिएको हो। सार्वजनिक खरिद ऐन, २०६३ को दफा ६३(१) बमोजिम ती कम्पनीहरूलाई कालोसूचीमा राखिएको जनाइएको छ।17 Construction Companies Blacklisted by the Government The Government of Nepal has blacklisted 17 construction companies for failing to comply with contract agreements and delays in project completion. Instead, the central bank’s Mint Division (Taksar Mahashakha) will sell silver medallions only, starting from October 12 (Ashwin 26, 2082). According to the NRB Mint Division, the price of the 10-gram Laxmi Medallion has been fixed at Rs. 3,000, and each individual will be allowed to purchase only one piece. Similarly, Ganesh Medallion (10 grams), Gajalaxmi Medallion (10 grams), and Cow Medallion (10 grams) will also be sold at Rs. 3,000 each, limited to one unit per person. All these medallions will be made of pure silver and will be available in limited quantities.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FNGSJA), the price of hallmark gold has climbed to Rs. 2,48,500 per tola, the highest ever recorded in Nepal. Compared to Monday’s price of Rs. 2,40,400 per tola, gold has increased by Rs. 8,100 per tola in a single day. The federation stated that the continuous rise in international gold prices has directly impacted the domestic market. The global rally has been driven by a weaker U.S. dollar and rising investor demand for gold as a safe-haven asset. Meanwhile, silver prices have also reached a record level. On Monday, silver was priced at Rs. 3,220 per tola, which has now risen to Rs. 3,325 per tola, marking an all-time high.
