The Finance Minister said he has projected that more than Rs 600 billion will be channelled to provincial and local governments in the upcoming fiscal year through revenue sharing (including royalties) and fiscal transfers.

He said the capacity of the workforce and volunteers involved in disaster response will be developed. He added that risk-transfer instruments, including insurance, will be expanded for post-disaster compensation, relief, and reconstruction.

As a result, the current remuneration will see a net increase of about 21 percent, and the minimum remuneration, including grade, will reach from around Rs 40,000 to over Rs 100,000. The new salary scale will take effect from Shrawan 1, 2083.

He said that to increase electricity consumption and control pollution, arrangements will be made to allow the purchase and sale of household electrical appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators, and vacuum cleaners on hire purchase.
