कतारको रास लाफान औद्योगिक शहरमा भएको क्षेप्यास्त्र आक्रमणले एलएनजी उत्पादनमा ठूलो क्षति पुगेको छ, जसका कारण कतारको निर्यात क्षमता करिब १७ प्रतिशतले घटेको बताइएको छ । कतार इनर्जीका अनुसार पूर्ण मर्मत गर्न तीनदेखि पाँच वर्ष लाग्न सक्ने र वार्षिक करिब २० अर्ब डलर बराबरको राजस्व गुम्ने अनुमान गरिएको छ । यसले भारत जस्ता कतारबाट ग्यास आयात गर्ने देशहरूलाई गम्भीर असर पार्ने र त्यसको अप्रत्यक्ष प्रभाव नेपालमा पनि पर्ने देखिएको छ । ग्यास र इन्धनको मूल्य बढ्ने सम्भावनासँगै महँगी थप बढ्ने र कतारमा कार्यरत नेपाली श्रमिकहरूको सुरक्षाबारे पनि चिन्ता बढेको छ ।A missile attack on Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City has caused major damage to LNG production, reducing the country’s export capacity by about 17 percent.
