नेपाल आयल निगमद्वारा इन्धन मूल्य समायोजन, डिजेलमा ३ रुपैयाँ वृद्धि, एलपी ग्यासको मूल्य यथावत काठमाडौं — नेपाल आयल निगम ले पेट्रोलियम पदार्थको खुद्रा बिक्री मूल्य समायोजन गरेको छ । इन्डियन आयल कर्पोरेशन (आईओसी) बाट माघ १७, २०८२ मा प्राप्त नयाँ खरिद मूल्यका आधारमा डिजेल, पेट्रोल र एलपी ग्यासको लागत बढेर आए पनि उपभोक्ताको हितलाई ध्यानमा राख्दै डिजेलमा प्रतिलिटर ३ रुपैयाँ मात्र वृद्धि गरिएको निगमले जनाएको छ । निगमका अनुसार समायोजित मूल्य १ फेब्रुअरी २०२६ (माघ १८, २०८२) को बिहान ००:०१ बजेदेखि लागू हुनेछ । निगमले जनाएको अनुसार आईओसीबाट डिजेलको खरिद मूल्य प्रतिलिटर ४ रुपैयाँ ६६ पैसाले बढेर आए पनि त्यसको पूर्ण भार उपभोक्तामाथि नपार्ने निर्णय गरिएको हो । नयाँ मूल्य संरचनाअनुसार पहिलो वर्गका डिपो क्षेत्रमा डिजेल तथा मट्टितेलको मूल्य प्रतिलिटर १३६ रुपैयाँ ५० पैसा कायम गरिएको छ । दोस्रो वर्गमा १३८ रुपैयाँ र तेस्रो वर्गमा १३९ रुपैयाँ तोकिएको छ । यसअघि पहिलो, दोस्रो र तेस्रो वर्गमा क्रमशः १३३ रुपैयाँ ५० पैसा, १३५ रुपैयाँ र १३६ रुपैयाँ खुद्रा मूल्य कायम थियो ।Nepal Oil Corporation Adjusts Fuel Prices, Raises Diesel by NPR 3 per Liter Kathmandu — Nepal Oil Corporation has revised the retail prices of petroleum products, increasing the price of diesel by NPR 3 per liter while keeping the prices of petrol and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) unchanged. The adjustment follows new procurement rates received from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) on Magh 17, 2082. According to the corporation, although the procurement cost of diesel, petrol, and LPG increased under the latest IOC pricing, the full impact has not been passed on to consumers. Diesel procurement costs rose by NPR 4.66 per liter, but only a partial adjustment was made in consideration of consumer welfare. The revised prices came into effect from 12:01 a.m. on February 1, 2026 (Magh 18, 2082). Under the new rate structure, diesel and kerosene prices in first-category depot areas have been set at NPR 136.50 per liter. In second-category areas, the price has been fixed at NPR 138 per liter, while third-category areas will now pay NPR 139 per liter. Previously, prices in these categories stood at NPR 133.50, NPR 135, and NPR 136 per liter respectively.

खुद ब्याज आम्दानीमा सामान्य सुधार, तर नउठेको ब्याज र खराब कर्जाले बैंकिङ क्षेत्र दबाबमै काठमाडौं — चालु आर्थिक वर्ष २०८२–८३ को दोस्रो त्रैमास (पुस मसान्त) सम्म आइपुग्दा वाणिज्य बैंकहरूको मुख्य आम्दानी स्रोत मानिने खुद ब्याज आम्दानीमा सामान्य सुधार देखिएको छ । तर, बैंकहरूको नाफामा ठूलो हिस्सा पाकेको तर नउठेको ब्याजबाट आएको तथ्य सार्वजनिक भएपछि बैंकिङ क्षेत्रको वास्तविक वित्तीय स्वास्थ्यप्रति चिन्ता कायमै देखिएको छ । दोस्रो त्रैमाससम्म सार्वजनिक अपरिष्कृत वित्तीय विवरणअनुसार सञ्चालनमा रहेका २० वटा वाणिज्य बैंकहरूले पुस मसान्तसम्म कुल ९६ अर्ब ५ करोड रुपैयाँभन्दा बढी खुद ब्याज आम्दानी गरेका छन् । यो अघिल्लो आर्थिक वर्षको सोही अवधिको तुलनामा करिब ३.७२ प्रतिशतले बढी हो । गत वर्ष सोही अवधिमा बैंकहरूको कुल खुद ब्याज आम्दानी ९२ अर्ब ६० करोड रुपैयाँ हाराहारीमा सीमित थियो । कुल बैंकहरूमध्ये १४ वटाले आम्दानी बढाएका छन् भने ६ वटा बैंकको खुद ब्याज आम्दानी घटेको देखिन्छ । खुद ब्याज आम्दानीको आधारमा नबिल बैंकले अग्रता कायम राखेको छ । बैंकले पुस मसान्तसम्म ८ अर्ब ८ करोड रुपैयाँभन्दा बढी खुद ब्याज आम्दानी गरेको छ, जुन अघिल्लो वर्षको तुलनामा सामान्य वृद्धि हो । दोस्रो स्थानमा रहेको ग्लोबल आइएमई बैंकले ८ अर्ब २ करोड रुपैयाँभन्दा बढी आम्दानी गरे पनि यसको खुद ब्याज आम्दानी वार्षिक आधारमा घटेको देखिन्छ । तेस्रो स्थानमा रहेको कुमारी बैंकले भने उल्लेख्य सुधार गर्दै २७ प्रतिशतभन्दा बढी वृद्धिदर हासिल गरेको छ ।Nepal’s Commercial Banks See Modest Income Recovery, but Rising Bad Loans and Accrued Interest Raise Red Flags Kathmandu — As Nepal’s commercial banks released their unaudited financial statements for the second quarter of fiscal year 2025/26 (mid-January), a mixed picture has emerged. While core income indicators show marginal improvement, deeper analysis suggests that the sector’s financial health remains fragile, weighed down by rising bad loans and an increasing dependence on accrued but unrealized interest income. According to second-quarter disclosures, Nepal’s 20 operating commercial banks collectively earned approximately NPR 96.05 billion in net interest income by mid-January. This represents a 3.72 percent increase compared to the same period last fiscal year, indicating a mild recovery in banks’ primary source of earnings. In the previous year, total net interest income stood at around NPR 92.6 billion. Out of the 20 banks, 14 reported growth in net interest income, while six experienced a decline, reflecting uneven performance across the sector.

Speaking at a press conference titled “The Private Sector in Election Manifestos” held in Kathmandu on Saturday, FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal warned that Nepal’s overall economic recovery would remain difficult as long as the private sector continues to be neglected. He emphasized that the private sector contributes nearly 81 percent to the country’s Gross Domestic Product and generates about 86 percent of total employment, making its stability critical to the national economy. Dhakal stated that the morale of the private sector has weakened to an unprecedented level. “Despite adequate liquidity in the banking system, investment has failed to grow, which is a serious warning sign,” he said. “If this situation persists, employment and revenue will further shrink, pushing the country toward economic failure.”

दोस्रो त्रैमासमा बजेट खर्च ४६ प्रतिशत, पुँजीगत खर्च र राजस्व संकलनमा दबाब कायमै अर्थ मन्त्रालयले चालु आर्थिक वर्ष २०८२/८३ को दोस्रो त्रैमास (पुस मसान्त) सम्म सम्पन्न गरेका कामकारबाही र उपलब्धि सार्वजनिक गरेको छ। मन्त्रालयले बजेट कार्यान्वयन, राजस्व व्यवस्थापन, कानुनी सुधार, वित्तीय सङ्घीयता, वित्तीय क्षेत्र सुधार, योजना–अनुगमन तथा प्रशासनिक व्यवस्थापनसम्बन्धी प्रगति विवरण सार्वजनिक गर्दै राज्यकोष व्यवस्थापन र सुशासन प्रवर्द्धनमा केन्द्रित प्रयास अघि बढाएको जनाएको छ। मन्त्रालयका अनुसार पुस मसान्तसम्म वार्षिक लक्ष्यको ४६.०६ प्रतिशत बजेट खर्च भएको छ। यो गत आर्थिक वर्षको सोही अवधिको तुलनामा १०.७५ प्रतिशतले बढी हो। चालु आवका लागि १९ खर्ब ६४ अर्ब ११ करोड रुपैयाँको बजेट विनियोजन गरिएकोमा पुससम्म ९ खर्ब ४ अर्ब ६४ करोड ४३ लाख रुपैयाँ खर्च भएको मन्त्रालयको विवरण छ। विवरणअनुसार चालु शीर्षकमा ११ खर्ब ८० अर्ब ९८ करोड रुपैयाँ विनियोजन गरिएकामा ४०.८२ प्रतिशत अर्थात् ४ खर्ब ८२ अर्ब १० करोड ८० लाख रुपैयाँ खर्च भएको छ। पुँजीगत शीर्षकमा ४ खर्ब ७ अर्ब ८८ करोड ८० लाख रुपैयाँ विनियोजन गरिएकामा ११.६६ प्रतिशत अर्थात् ४७ अर्ब ५४ करोड ४० लाख रुपैयाँ मात्र खर्च भएको छ। पुँजीगत खर्च अपेक्षाअनुसार अघि नबढ्नु सरकारका लागि चुनौतीकै रूपमा देखिएको छ। गत आर्थिक वर्षको तुलनामा चालु खर्च ३.३५ प्रतिशतले बढेको छ भने पुँजीगत खर्च ४.८६ प्रतिशतले घटेको छ। यस्तै, वित्तीय व्यवस्थातर्फको खर्च भने ५३.२९ प्रतिशतले बढेको मन्त्रालयको प्रतिवेदनमा उल्लेख छ। यसले ऋण व्यवस्थापन र दायित्व भुक्तानीतर्फ दबाब बढेको संकेत गर्छ।Finance Ministry Reports 46 Percent Budget Spending in Second Quarter, Structural Challenges Persist The Ministry of Finance has released a detailed progress report outlining its performance and achievements during the second quarter of the current fiscal year 2082/83. The report covers budget execution, revenue administration, legal reforms, fiscal federalism, financial sector reform, planning and monitoring, and administrative management, presenting a broad picture of the state’s fiscal operations and governance efforts. According to the ministry, 46.06 percent of the annual budget had been spent by mid-January. This marks an increase of 10.75 percent compared to the same period last fiscal year, indicating relatively faster budget execution. For the current fiscal year, the government had allocated a total budget of Rs 19.64 trillion, of which Rs 9.04 trillion had been spent by the end of the second quarter. A closer look at expenditure composition, however, reveals persistent imbalances. Of the Rs 11.80 trillion allocated under recurrent expenditure, 40.82 percent—equivalent to Rs 4.82 trillion—was spent by mid-January. In contrast, capital expenditure remained weak. Out of Rs 4.07 trillion allocated for capital projects, only 11.66 percent, or Rs 47.54 billion, was spent during the review period. This underperformance in capital spending continues to raise concerns about project execution capacity and development outcomes.

५५ ठूला परियोजनामा १ खर्ब ७१ अर्ब लगानी स्वीकृत, ऊर्जा क्षेत्रमा सबैभन्दा बढी केन्द्रित लगानी बोर्ड नेपाल (आईबीएन) ले सन् २०२५ डिसेम्बर ३१ सम्ममा कुल ५५ वटा ठूला परियोजनामा १ खर्ब ७१ अर्ब ६५ करोड रुपैयाँ बराबरको लगानी स्वीकृत गरेको छ। अमेरिकी डलरमा यो रकम करिब ११ अर्ब ९२ करोड डलर बराबर पर्छ। बोर्डका अनुसार स्वीकृत लगानीमध्ये सबैभन्दा ठूलो हिस्सा ऊर्जा क्षेत्रमा केन्द्रित भएको छ। आईबीएनका अनुसार ऊर्जा क्षेत्रमा मात्रै ४० वटा परियोजनामार्फत १ खर्ब ३३ अर्ब ७१ करोड रुपैयाँ (९ अर्ब २८ करोड डलर) बराबरको लगानी स्वीकृत गरिएको छ। यसले नेपालको ऊर्जा विकासमा स्वदेशी तथा विदेशी लगानीकर्ताको आकर्षण निरन्तर बढ्दै गएको संकेत गर्छ। ऊर्जा क्षेत्रमा जलविद्युत्, सौर्य ऊर्जा, प्रसारण लाइन र वितरण प्रणालीलाई प्राथमिकतामा राखिएको बोर्डले जनाएको छ। ऊर्जापछि उत्पादनमूलक उद्योग क्षेत्रमा ९ वटा परियोजनाका लागि २३ अर्ब ६९ करोड रुपैयाँ बराबरको लगानी स्वीकृत भएको छ। यस्तै, पूर्वाधार क्षेत्रमा १ वटा परियोजनामार्फत ६ अर्ब ४९ करोड रुपैयाँ, पर्यटन क्षेत्रमा २ वटा परियोजनाबाट ७ अर्ब १६ करोड रुपैयाँ तथा उपयोगिता क्षेत्रमा ३ वटा परियोजनाका लागि ५ अर्ब ९१ करोड रुपैयाँ बराबरको लगानी स्वीकृत गरिएको छ।Investment Board Approves Rs 171.65 Billion for 55 Large Projects, Energy Sector Dominates The Investment Board Nepal (IBN) has approved investments worth Rs 171.65 billion for 55 large-scale projects as of December 31, 2025. In dollar terms, the approved amount stands at approximately USD 11.92 billion. The data highlights a strong concentration of investment in priority sectors, particularly energy, reflecting Nepal’s strategic focus on long-term infrastructure and power development. According to IBN, the energy sector accounts for the largest share of approved investments. A total of 40 energy-related projects have received approval, amounting to Rs 133.71 billion, or around USD 9.28 billion. This dominance indicates continued investor confidence in Nepal’s hydropower and renewable energy potential, which remains central to the country’s economic and export ambitions. Manufacturing is the second-largest recipient of approved investment. The board has cleared nine manufacturing projects with a combined investment of Rs 23.69 billion. Analysts note that while manufacturing investment is growing, it remains significantly lower than energy, suggesting that Nepal’s industrial diversification is still in a gradual phase.

प्रतिनिधि सभा र राष्ट्रिय सभा निर्वाचनका लागि १९ अर्ब १५ करोड स्रोत सहमति, ६ अर्ब ३१ करोड निकासा अर्थ मन्त्रालयले चालु आर्थिक वर्ष २०८२/८३ अन्तर्गत प्रतिनिधि सभा तथा राष्ट्रिय सभा सदस्य निर्वाचनको व्यवस्थापनका लागि कुल १९ अर्ब १५ करोड रुपैयाँ बराबरको स्रोत सहमति प्रदान गरेको छ। मन्त्रालयका अनुसार सो रकममध्ये हालसम्म ६ अर्ब ३१ करोड रुपैयाँ निकासा भइसकेको छ। मन्त्रालयले निर्वाचन तयारीलाई समयमै, व्यवस्थित र पारदर्शी बनाउने उद्देश्यले चरणबद्ध रूपमा स्रोत सहमति र निकासा प्रक्रिया अघि बढाएको जनाएको छ। निर्वाचनसँग सम्बन्धित विभिन्न निकायलाई आवश्यकताअनुसार बजेट उपलब्ध गराइएको मन्त्रालयको भनाइ छ। निर्वाचन आयोगलाई निर्वाचन व्यवस्थापनका लागि सबैभन्दा बढी स्रोत सहमति दिइएको छ। मन्त्रालयका अनुसार आयोगलाई १८ कात्तिकमा ४ अर्ब ९६ करोड रुपैयाँ र २० पुसमा १ अर्ब ७७ करोड ९० हजार रुपैयाँ स्रोत सहमति प्रदान गरिएको थियो। यी दुवै किस्ता गरी हालसम्म आयोगलाई कुल ६ अर्ब ३१ करोड रुपैयाँ निकासा भइसकेको छ।Finance Ministry Allocates Rs 19.15 Billion for Election Management, Rs 6.31 Billion Released The Ministry of Finance has approved budgetary allocations totaling Rs 19.15 billion for the management of elections to the House of Representatives and the National Assembly under the current fiscal year 2082/83. According to the ministry, Rs 6.31 billion of the approved amount has already been released to concerned agencies for election preparations. The ministry stated that the allocation and release of funds are being carried out in phases to ensure timely preparation, operational efficiency, and transparency in election-related spending. Funds have been provided to various institutions based on their respective roles and responsibilities in the election process. The Election Commission has received the largest share of the released funds so far. The ministry approved Rs 4.96 billion on November 18 and an additional Rs 1.77 billion on December 20 for election management. With these two disbursements combined, the commission has received a total of Rs 6.31 billion to date. To strengthen election security and intelligence coordination, the National Investigation Department was provided Rs 280 million on November 13. The allocation is intended to support surveillance, information gathering, and security preparedness during the election period.

This marks an improvement of nearly Rs 1.90 compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year, when the average EPS stood at Rs 14.40. The rise reflects an overall increase in banking sector profits during the review period. During the first half of the fiscal year, commercial banks recorded a profit growth of around 11.5 percent. By mid-January, 20 commercial banks together earned a total profit of Rs 30.52 billion, up from Rs 27.36 billion in the corresponding period last year. The improvement suggests a gradual recovery in the banking sector after a prolonged period of pressure caused by weak credit demand and rising non-performing loans.
