Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank has tightened regulations on government cheque payments by introducing new provisions under the amended Government Transaction Directive. Government account payments must now be made only through the financial payment system or via account payee cheques. The use of cheque writers or protectors has been made mandatory, and cleared cheques must be deposited only into the account of the named beneficiary.
