१८औं गभर्नर - कोभन्दा कस्तो महत्त्वपूर्ण नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकका १७औं गभर्नर महाप्रसाद अधिकारीको पाँचवर्षे कार्यकाल चैत २४, २०८१ मा समाप्त हुँदैछ। उनको स्थानमा १८औं गभर्नर को आउँछ भन्ने चर्चा र चासो यतिबेला सर्वत्र फैलिएको छ। विभिन्न व्यक्तिहरूले यो पदका लागि आकांक्षा राखेर दौडधुप थालेका छन्। तर, यहाँ मूल प्रश्न व्यक्तिको पहिचानभन्दा पनि आउने गभर्नरको योग्यता, दक्षता र नेतृत्व क्षमता हो। मुलुकको अर्थतन्त्र संकटको चपेटामा परेको यो संवेदनशील घडीमा गभर्नरको नियुक्ति केवल राजनीतिक भागबन्डाको खेल बन्नुहुँदैन। बरु, बैंकिङ क्षेत्रको स्थायित्व कायम गर्न र समग्र अर्थतन्त्रलाई माथि उठाउन सक्ने दूरदर्शी नेतृत्वको खाँचो छ।The 18th Governor – Not Who, But What Kind Matters Most The five-year tenure of Mahaprasad Adhikari, the 17th Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), is set to conclude on Chaitra 24, 2081 (April 7, 2025). As his term nears its end, speculation and curiosity about who will succeed him as the 18th Governor have intensified. Aspirants have begun their lobbying efforts, and the race is heating up. However, the critical question is not who will take the helm, but what kind of leader is needed. At a time when Nepal’s economy teeters on the brink of crisis, the appointment of the next governor must transcend political horse-trading and focus on delivering a visionary leader capable of steering the banking sector and the broader economy toward stability and growth.
