The Ministry of Finance had approved up to NPR 10 billion in loans for NEA on Ashar 20, and based on that approval, NPR 5 billion has already been disbursed. According to NEA’s Executive Director, Hitendra Dev Shakya, the loan at an interest rate of 5.38% has been utilized to address cash shortages and to make payments for various contracts and projects. He stated that the loan is essential for upgrading transmission line capacity, clearing outstanding payments, and ensuring quality electrification across the country.

Despite a rise in turnover compared to Thursday, all sectoral indices closed in red, indicating growing selling pressure among investors. The NEPSE index fell by 27.14 points to close at 2,761 points, down from 2,788 on Thursday. Continuous declines over recent sessions have heightened panic selling as investors attempt to minimize losses through stop-loss strategies, resulting in stronger selling pressure than buying demand. On Sunday, shares of 249 companies worth NPR 7.73 billion were traded, slightly higher than Thursday’s NPR 7.46 billion. However, the increased turnover failed to lift the market. Prices of 58 companies advanced while 191 declined, with all 13 sub-indices ending in negative territory. Trade, Others, Microfinance, Manufacturing & Processing, and Banking sub-indices dropped more than 1 percent. Analysts note that back-to-back double-digit losses have fueled panic among investors.

The company will issue 14,764,000 ordinary shares at a par value of NPR 100 each, equivalent to its current paid-up capital of NPR 1.47 billion, in a 1:1 ratio. This means that existing shareholders will be entitled to receive one rights share for every one share they currently hold. For rights eligibility, the company had already conducted a book closure on July 31, 2025 (Shrawan 16, 2082 BS). Therefore, only shareholders who were listed in NEPSE by July 30, 2025 (Shrawan 15) will be eligible to apply. Shareholders may submit their applications until September 24, 2025 (Ashoj 8, 2082 BS). The company stated that the funds raised from this rights issue will be utilized to repay bank and financial institution loans taken for its ongoing power generation projects. The company’s P/E ratio of 79.8 indicates the stock remains highly overvalued relative to its earnings.

वाणिज्य बैंकले ब्याजदर घटाए, व्यक्तिगत खातामा औसत ५.५८ प्रतिशतमा झर्यो वाणिज्य बैंकहरूले भदौ महिनादेखि आफ्ना मुद्दती निक्षेपमा ब्याजदर घटाएका छन्। नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकको मौद्रिक नीतिगत प्रभाव, तरलता सहज हुँदै गएको अवस्था र बजारमा प्रतिस्पर्धा बढेकाले बैंकहरूले ब्याजदर तल झारेका हुन्। साउन महिनामा व्यक्तिगत खातामा मुद्दती निक्षेपको औसत ब्याजदर ५.७८ प्रतिशत थियो। भदौ महिनामा भने यो घटेर ५.५८ प्रतिशतमा पुगेको छ। त्यस्तै, संस्थागत खाताको ब्याजदर ४.१२ प्रतिशतबाट घटेर ३.९६ प्रतिशत कायम भएको छ। यसले बैंकिङ प्रणालीमा निक्षेप संकलन सहज भएको संकेत दिएको छ। भदौ महिनामा सात बैंकहरूले ब्याजदर घटाएका छन्। कृषि विकास बैंकले व्यक्तिगत खातामा ५.२० प्रतिशत र संस्थागत खातामा २.८५ प्रतिशत ब्याजदर निर्धारण गरेको छ। एभरेष्ट बैंकले व्यक्तिगतमा ५.७५ प्रतिशत र संस्थागतमा ४.७५ प्रतिशत तोकेको छ। कुमारी बैंकले व्यक्तिगत खातामा ५.२१ प्रतिशत तोकेको छ भने नेपाल एसबिआई बैंकले व्यक्तिगतमा ५.२५ प्रतिशत र संस्थागतमा ४.२५ प्रतिशत कायम गरेको छ।Commercial Banks Slash Fixed Deposit Rates, Average Falls to 5.58% for Individuals Commercial banks in Nepal have reduced their fixed deposit rates effective from the month of Bhadra. In the second phase, the company issued 1,354,235 shares, of which 30,095 shares were reserved for employees and 75,236 shares for mutual funds.
