Earlier, a three-member committee had been formed under the coordination of Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, with members Bishwo Poudel and Bijaya Nath Bhattarai. However, Bhattarai resigned on Baisakh 10, expressing dissatisfaction, which left the committee incomplete and halted the governor appointment process. The central bank has been without a governor since Chaitra 25.

As per the new rates, petrol has become cheaper by Rs. 2 per liter, diesel and kerosene by Rs. 1 per liter, and domestic aviation fuel by Rs. 4 per liter. The price of international aviation fuel (from Kathmandu) has been reduced by USD 29 per kiloliter. However, for Pokhara and Bhairahawa airports, the international aviation fuel price has been kept at the break-even point, according to the corporation.

राष्ट्र बैंकले हायर पर्चेज कम्पनीका लागि विद्युतिय गाडीमा कर्जा सीमा कडाइ गर्‍यो नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकले हायर पर्चेज कर्जा दिने कम्पनीहरूलाई कडाइ गर्ने गरी नीतिगत तथा कानुनी व्यवस्था संशोधन गरेको छ। अबदेखि हायर पर्चेज कम्पनीहरूले विद्युतिय सवारीसाधन बिक्रीमा अधिकतम ६० प्रतिशतसम्म मात्र कर्जा प्रवाह गर्न पाउनेछन्। २०७० सालको 'हायर पर्चेज कर्जा दिने कम्पनीलाई स्वीकृति दिने नीतिगत एवम् प्रक्रियागत व्यवस्था' संशोधन गर्दै राष्ट्र बैंकले यस्तो व्यवस्था गरेको हो। यसअघि मौद्रिक नीतिको समिक्षा मार्फत राष्ट्र बैंकले बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्थाहरूलाई सबै प्रकारका विद्युतिय सवारीमा ६० प्रतिशत मात्र फाइनान्स गर्न निर्देशन दिएको थियो। तर, हायर पर्चेज कम्पनीहरूले भने ८० प्रतिशतसम्म कर्जा प्रवाह गरिरहेका थिए।NRB Tightens Loan Limit for Hire Purchase Companies on Electric Vehicles Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has tightened its policy and regulatory framework for hire purchase companies by amending the Policy and Procedural Arrangement for Granting Approval to Provide Hire Purchase Loans, 2070. Under the new rule, hire purchase companies can now finance only up to 60% of the value of electric vehicles. Previously, through a mid-term review of the monetary policy, NRB had instructed banks and financial institutions to limit financing to 60% for all types of electric vehicles. However, hire purchase companies continued financing up to 80% of the vehicle's value. To plug this loophole, NRB has now legally amended the rule to enforce the same 60% financing cap on hire purchase companies as well.

The appointment process has been stalled due to political bargaining and legal complications. Although the ruling coalition partners, CPN-UML and Nepali Congress, had agreed to appoint Dr. Gunakar Bhatt as the new Governor, a supplementary writ challenging his qualifications has reached the Supreme Court. The case, scheduled for today under Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Tek Prasad Dhungana, was again deferred for the fifth time without a hearing.
