नेपालमा बढ्दो आयात निर्भरता कारण व्यापार घाटा झन् बढ्दै गएको छ। चालु आर्थिक वर्ष २०८२/८३ को फागुन मसान्तसम्म कुल करिब १४ खर्ब ४० अर्ब रुपैयाँको वैदेशिक व्यापार हुँदा करिब ११ खर्ब रुपैयाँ घाटा भएको छ। भारत र चीनसँग सबैभन्दा ठूलो व्यापार घाटा देखिएको छ भने इन्धन, भटमास तेल र खाद्यान्न (विशेषगरी चामल) आयात उच्च रहेको छ। निर्यात भने सीमित रूपमा भटमास तेल, अलैँची र कार्पेटमा केन्द्रित रहेको छ।Nepal’s trade deficit is widening due to rising import dependency. By mid-March of the current fiscal year, total foreign trade reached around NPR 14.40 trillion, with a deficit of nearly NPR 11 trillion. The largest deficits are with India and China, while imports are dominated by fuel, soybean oil, and food items like rice. Exports remain limited, mainly consisting of soybean oil, cardamom, and carpets.
