शिखर पावरको स्थानीयका लागि खुला आईपीओ आवेदन अवधि फागुन ८ गतेसम्म काठमाडौँ— शिखर पावर डेभलपमेन्ट लिमिटेड ले आयोजना प्रभावित क्षेत्रका स्थानीय बासिन्दाका लागि निष्काशन गरेको प्राथमिक सेयर (आईपीओ) मा आवेदन दिने अवधि फागुन ८ गतेसम्म लम्ब्याएको छ। कम्पनीका अनुसार तोकिएको अवधिभित्र मागभन्दा बढी आवेदन परेमा भने सेयर बिक्री प्रक्रिया समयअगावै बन्द गर्न सकिनेछ। कम्पनीले कुल ३२ लाख कित्ता सेयर निष्काशन गर्न अनुमति पाएको छ। यसमध्ये ९ लाख ८० हजार कित्ता सेयर आयोजना प्रभावित क्षेत्रका स्थानीय बासिन्दाका लागि छुट्याइएको छ। स्थानीय लगानीकर्ताले न्यूनतम १० कित्ता र अधिकतम १० हजार कित्तासम्म सेयरका लागि आवेदन दिन सक्ने व्यवस्था गरिएको छ।Shikhar Power Extends IPO Application Deadline for Project-Affected Locals Until February Kathmandu — Shikhar Power Development Limited has extended the application deadline for its initial public offering (IPO) allocated to residents of the project-affected area until February 20 (Falgun 8). The company has received regulatory approval to issue a total of 3.2 million shares. Out of this, 980,000 shares have been reserved specifically for local residents affected by the project. Eligible applicants can apply for a minimum of 10 shares and a maximum of 10,000 shares under this category. Shikhar Power is currently operating the Bhimkhola Small Hydropower Project with a capacity of 4.96 megawatts. The project is already in commercial operation, making the company an active power producer in Nepal’s hydropower sector rather than a purely construction-stage entity.

A key driver behind the easing inflation has been the decline in food prices. During the review month, inflation in the food and beverage group turned marginally negative at –0.09 percent, a notable reversal from the 7.67 percent increase recorded a year earlier. This decline suggests improved supply conditions and weaker demand-side pressures in essential commodities. In contrast, non-food and services inflation remained relatively elevated at 3.81 percent, though still lower than the 4.19 percent recorded in the same period last year.

माघ १९ गते सोमबार नेपाली बजारमा सुन र चाँदीको मूल्यमा तीव्र गिरावट आएको छ। सुन प्रतितोला १३ हजार ४०० रुपैयाँले घटेर २ लाख ८६ हजार ६०० रुपैयाँमा र चाँदी ३०० रुपैयाँले घटेर ५ हजार २०० रुपैयाँमा कारोबार भएको छ। नेपाल सुनचाँदी व्यवसायी महासंघ का अनुसार पछिल्लो तीन दिनदेखि दुवै धातुको मूल्य निरन्तर घट्दो क्रममा छ।On Monday, Magh 19, gold and silver prices declined sharply in the Nepali market. Gold dropped by NPR 13,400 per tola to NPR 286,600, while silver fell by NPR 300 per tola to NPR 5,200. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association, prices of both precious metals have been falling continuously for the past three days.

आईतवार साताको पहिलो कारोबार दिन नेप्से परिसूचक दोहोरो अंकले घटेर २६९४.२० विन्दुमा बन्द भएको छ। नेप्से १९.८५ अंकले घट्दा कारोबार रकम पनि घटेर ९ अर्ब १० करोड रुपैयाँमा सीमित भएको छ। मिथिला लघुवित्तको शेयर मूल्य सर्वाधिक बढ्दा कर्पोरेट डेभलपमेन्ट बैंक र रवा इनर्जीको शेयरमा तीव्र गिरावट देखिएको छ। १३ उपसमूहमध्ये व्यापार उपसमूह बाहेक सबै ओरालो लाग्दा बजार पूँजीकरण ४५.२३ खर्ब रुपैयाँ कायम भएको छ।The NEPSE index closed lower by double digits on Sunday, falling 19.85 points to 2,694.20 on the first trading day of the week. Market turnover declined to NPR 9.10 billion. While Mithila Laghubitta posted the highest gain, Corporate Development Bank and Rawa Energy saw sharp losses. The central bank will collect the funds through its Deposit Collection Instrument (DCI) using a competitive bidding process, as part of its ongoing liquidity management strategy. The repeated use of deposit collection tools in recent months indicates that liquidity in the banking system has risen beyond optimal levels. As credit growth has failed to expand in line with deposit accumulation, a significant volume of funds has remained idle within banks. To prevent excess liquidity from distorting interest rates and financial stability, the central bank has opted to temporarily withdraw funds from the market.

नेपाल आयल निगमद्वारा इन्धन मूल्य समायोजन, डिजेलमा ३ रुपैयाँ वृद्धि, एलपी ग्यासको मूल्य यथावत काठमाडौं — नेपाल आयल निगम ले पेट्रोलियम पदार्थको खुद्रा बिक्री मूल्य समायोजन गरेको छ । इन्डियन आयल कर्पोरेशन (आईओसी) बाट माघ १७, २०८२ मा प्राप्त नयाँ खरिद मूल्यका आधारमा डिजेल, पेट्रोल र एलपी ग्यासको लागत बढेर आए पनि उपभोक्ताको हितलाई ध्यानमा राख्दै डिजेलमा प्रतिलिटर ३ रुपैयाँ मात्र वृद्धि गरिएको निगमले जनाएको छ । निगमका अनुसार समायोजित मूल्य १ फेब्रुअरी २०२६ (माघ १८, २०८२) को बिहान ००:०१ बजेदेखि लागू हुनेछ । निगमले जनाएको अनुसार आईओसीबाट डिजेलको खरिद मूल्य प्रतिलिटर ४ रुपैयाँ ६६ पैसाले बढेर आए पनि त्यसको पूर्ण भार उपभोक्तामाथि नपार्ने निर्णय गरिएको हो । नयाँ मूल्य संरचनाअनुसार पहिलो वर्गका डिपो क्षेत्रमा डिजेल तथा मट्टितेलको मूल्य प्रतिलिटर १३६ रुपैयाँ ५० पैसा कायम गरिएको छ । दोस्रो वर्गमा १३८ रुपैयाँ र तेस्रो वर्गमा १३९ रुपैयाँ तोकिएको छ । यसअघि पहिलो, दोस्रो र तेस्रो वर्गमा क्रमशः १३३ रुपैयाँ ५० पैसा, १३५ रुपैयाँ र १३६ रुपैयाँ खुद्रा मूल्य कायम थियो ।Nepal Oil Corporation Adjusts Fuel Prices, Raises Diesel by NPR 3 per Liter Kathmandu — Nepal Oil Corporation has revised the retail prices of petroleum products, increasing the price of diesel by NPR 3 per liter while keeping the prices of petrol and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) unchanged. The adjustment follows new procurement rates received from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) on Magh 17, 2082. According to the corporation, although the procurement cost of diesel, petrol, and LPG increased under the latest IOC pricing, the full impact has not been passed on to consumers. Diesel procurement costs rose by NPR 4.66 per liter, but only a partial adjustment was made in consideration of consumer welfare. The revised prices came into effect from 12:01 a.m. on February 1, 2026 (Magh 18, 2082). Under the new rate structure, diesel and kerosene prices in first-category depot areas have been set at NPR 136.50 per liter. In second-category areas, the price has been fixed at NPR 138 per liter, while third-category areas will now pay NPR 139 per liter. Previously, prices in these categories stood at NPR 133.50, NPR 135, and NPR 136 per liter respectively.

While core income indicators show marginal improvement, deeper analysis suggests that the sector’s financial health remains fragile, weighed down by rising bad loans and an increasing dependence on accrued but unrealized interest income. According to second-quarter disclosures, Nepal’s 20 operating commercial banks collectively earned approximately NPR 96.05 billion in net interest income by mid-January. This represents a 3.72 percent increase compared to the same period last fiscal year, indicating a mild recovery in banks’ primary source of earnings. In the previous year, total net interest income stood at around NPR 92.6 billion. Out of the 20 banks, 14 reported growth in net interest income, while six experienced a decline, reflecting uneven performance across the sector.
